Course Description:
Functional Methods Module 1 of 3
A large set of osteopathic and osteopathically derived assessment and treatment methods. The assessment methods are organized in a protocol to determine where in the body, at each moment, the structure can be worked on to produce the most positive change for the whole person. Content and format have evolved over 20 years. Currently, 19 assessment methods and 24 treatment methods are organized into 3 modules, each lasting 4 days, with months in between to practice component skills. One-third of the methods are my original innovations. This is a foundational course series that provides a skill set applicable to many treatment modalities, including everything else I teach. I edited and expanded the material in this course into a book, Assessment and Treatment Methods for Manual Therapists, ISBN 978 1839978746 . This book is now the textbook for this course and is required reading for all courses I teach. To register email the instructor jeffrey@jeffreyburch.com
